Girlguiding - Sale Division

You could help us give girls in Sale opportunities for fun, friendship, challenge and adventure by volunteering with Girlguiding in Sale, an organisation that offers girls aged from 5 to 18 new and exciting opportunities and experiences. We have a range of flexible volunteeering opportunities that can be tailored to fit around your lifestyle. The Players' Sale

Do you love singing/acting? The Players' Sale Drama Group, are looking for new members to take part in the annual Pantomime at the end of November. If you love singing and/or acting, come along on Monday, 24th June at 7.30 p.m. to St. Francis Hall, Budworth Road, M33 3RO to hear about the next Show. We welcome all ages and abilities. Churches Together in Sale

Trip to Llandudno

Wednesday, 19th June 2019

Coach leaves St Anne's, Sale Moor at 9.00 a.m. and St. Paul's at 9.10 a,m., arriving Bodelwyddan at 10.30 a.m. for a guided tour around The Marble Church, an Act of Worship, and refreshments. Followed by lunch at The Imperial Hotel, Llandudno and free time. Coach departs Llandudno at 5.00 p.m.  Cost £26.50 all inc. 'Sign Up' form in the sacristy.

CARITAS Events

2nd Annual Fundraiser Friday, 28th June - 8.00 p.m. 'til late - St. Anthony's Social Club, Portway, M22 0NS. Special Guests Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band. Tickets £5, Family tickets available (£12).

Cultural event to celebrate 'Refugee Week', Friday 21st June beginning at 6.00 p.m. at St Aidan's Northern Moor. 'Journey to Sanctuary' tells the story of a refugee who has had to flee her own country in search of sanctuary, and the event is also celebrating with a variety of dishes from different countries. Booking essential for catering purposes. Full details of both events are on the noticeboard in the narthex.

 

Manchester Walks

7.00 p.m., Wednesday, 3rd July 2019

After a few years break, Father Woolley has arranged for another of the very successful and informative Manchester Walks. This walk is 'Women of Manchester' to celebrate the erection of the Emmeline Pankhurst statue in St. Peter's Square on Wednesday, 3rd July. Meet at 7.00 p.m. outside Central LIbrary. Cost £10.  If you would like to go, please register on a form in the sacristy.

 

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes

25th July - 2nd August 2019

Booking forms are available on the pilgrimage website (www.shrewsburypilgrimage.co.uk). If you are going to fly and would like transport to and from Liverpool Airport, please let Fr Peter Sharrocks know, as we may be able to arrange a coach to Liverpool Airport 0161 483 3476, This email address is being protected from spambots. If you wish to travel by train which will involve an early start from Stockport/Manchester and travelling via London and Paris and arriving in Lourdes the same evening, please again get in touch with Fr. Peter. No assistance with luggage or wheelchairs with train travel is available.

 

Parish Pilgrimages

The Parish Pilgtimage to the Holy Land is only four months away and 25 parishioners are booked on to join Father Woolley and Deacon John on this special pilgrimage.  There are still places available - please see Father Woolley if anyone is still interested. 

Looking forward towards 2020, the year our country is going to be re-dedicated to Our Lady, Father Woolley is planning a pilgrimage in honour of Our Lady. After the announcement by the Holy Father on 12th May that parishes can now organise pilgrimages to Medjugorje, that is the proposed destination in May half term next year.

More details to be announced in due course.

 

Keep Fit Classes at St. Joseph's

Every Thursday in the Parish Centre

1. Metafit HiiT class - 30 mins high intensity interval training using a series of body - weight exercises, designed to keep your body burning calories long after your training session is complete. It's tough but it works! 9.15am - 9.45am. Cost £5.

2. Over 60's Keep Fit Aerobics, Strength, Core, Balance and Flexibility- for men and women of all ability levels. 10am - 11am. Cost £4.50 . Contact: Julia Millington 07718 336749.

 

Catholic Women's League

 The CWL promotes and supports religious and intellectual interests and social work; ensures the presentation of Catholic interests on public bodies; for the formation and collective expression of Catholic public opinion including support of work at an international level through the World Union of Catholic Women's Organisations. Meetings are held on the Third Monday of the month.

 

Ring and Ride

Ring and Ride provides a door-to-door accessible minibus service for people of all ages who find it difficult to use ordinry public transport. Some parishioners make use of this service to attend the 11.00 a.m. Mass on Sundays but, in order to secure a regular service, need a couple more to join with them. If you need assistance, phone 0161 200 6011.

 

Union of Catholic Mothers

Meetings take place on Tueday afternoons 1.00 p.m. - 2.30 p.m. at Holy Family Parish Church. If anyone would like to join us, you would be made very welcome. Contact Joan Ryan, President on 0161 917 2166.

St Joseph's and Holy Family

Parent and Toddler Group

This popular Group meets each Monday morning from 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. during term time, in the Holy Family Parish Centre. The Group has been in existence for many years and is organised by a team of parishioners who give their time on a voluntary basis.  If you feel you would like to become involved in the work of the Group, then further details can be obtained from Father Woolley on 973 1615 or Jane Simister on 969 9193, or call in on a Monday and see for yourself.

The usual CRB formalities will be applicable.

 

North West Thirtysomethings

Are you in your 30's? Would you like to meet other Catholics your age? We are a group who share the same faith and interests. Recent events have included art galleries, meals, theatre, city tours.
