Parish Summer Trip to Southport

Wednesday, 22nd August 2018

Why not join Father Woolley and the parish on a traditional British day at the seaside on Wednesday 22nd August to Southport? Leaving St. Joseph’s after 9.00am Mass at 9.30am and returning from Southport at 6.00pm. Cost £12 per person. Booking forms are available in the sacristy.


ABBA Night

Family Summer Evening

7.30 p.m.-11.30 p.m., Friday, 31st August 2018

Come and have a wonderful night of music and fun together, dancing and singing to all the Abba favourites – “Thank you for the music.....” Bring your own refreshments and come in fancy dress if you wish. Tickets £5pp /£3 children available after Mass or on the door on the night.


National Eucharistic Congress

Liverpool, 7th-9th September 2018

Deadline for National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and Congress, Adoremus 7th-9th September: Bookings to hear the inspirational Bishop Robert Barron ( from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles on Saturday (08/9) and for the 9:30 am Pilgrimage Mass on Sunday (09/9) will be taken until Tuesday 31 July.  Please book and pay for your Congress tickets through your parish. Sunday Mass tickets can be booked online at . Tickets and delegate packs will be posted to delegates in mid-August.–follow the Adoremus link.

Theatre Club

English National Ballet - Manon

Friday, 19th October at the Opera House

There are ten circle tickets available (price £34) to see this ballet which has had excellent reviews in London. We do need ten people to retain this ticket price – and the money in by 16 September please. More information about the ballet are on the clipboard in the sacristy. If you would like to go please sign the list, ensuring you give a contact number.

Les Miserables at the Palace Theatre

Parish Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

23rd-30th September 2019

Father Woolley has now finalised the dates for the 2019 pilgrimage to the Holy Land. These are 23rd-30th September. Cost £1470. Deposits of £400 required by 23rd November. Booking forms available. Father Paul Maddison, Catholic priest and director of Pilgrimage People, will give a presentation on Wednesday 13th June at 7.00 pm in the Parish Centre. All interested are very welcome.


Catholic Women's League

The CWL promotes and supports religious and intellectual interests and social work; ensures the presentation of Catholic interests on public bodies; for the formation and collective expression of Catholic public opinion including support of work at an international level through the World Union of Catholic Women's Organisations. Meetings are held on the Third Monday of the month.


Ring and Ride

Ring and Ride provides a door-to-door accessible minibus service for people of all ages who find it difficult to use ordinry public transport. Some parishioners make use of this service to attend the 11.00 a.m. Mass on Sundays but, in order to secure a regular service, need a couple more to join with them. If you need assistance, phone 0161 200 6011.


Union of Catholic Mothers

Meetings take place on Tueday afternoons 1.00 p.m. - 2.30 p.m. at Holy Family Parish Church. If anyone would like to join us, you would be made very welcome. Contact Joan Ryan, President on 282 6378.

St Joseph's and Holy Family

Parent and Toddler Group

This popular Group meets each Monday morning from 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. during term time, in the Holy Family Parish Centre. The Group has been in existence for many years and is organised by a team of parishioners who give their time on a voluntary basis.  If you feel you would like to become involved in the work of the Group, then further details can be obtained from Father Woolley on 973 1615 or Jane Simister on 969 9193, or call in on a Monday and see for yourself.

The usual CRB formalities will be applicable.


North West Thirtysomethings

Are you in your 30's? Would you like to meet other Catholics your age? We are a group who share the same faith and interests. Recent events have included art galleries, meals, theatre, city tours.
